Kukicha is a Japanese tea made from the stems, twigs, and stalks of the green tea plant.
There is a light roasting process that adds an earthy, sweet, and slightly toasted aroma to the subtle vegetal flavor. It has a slightly lower caffeine content than other Japanese green teas, so we like to enjoy it into the early afternoon, especially with a biscuit or bit of chocolate.
